Tennessee United Player Makes National Team

Hendersonville — February 20, 2020 —  “Be Humble and Kind” – Inspiring words from Kathleen Collins, an impressive young lady poised to take her first step on the youth soccer national stage.  Collins, known by many as Katie Shea, has been selected to represent US Youth Soccer as part of the 2005 Girls ODP National Team.

The selection comes as no surprise to those who have had the pleasure of meeting Collins on and off the field.  She is the ideal player – speed and skill combined with intelligence and an infectiously positive personality.  The Tennessee United player always leads by example in training and games with her 2004 Girls Red team that travels all over the US in search of top quality play.

When speaking about being chosen among the top eighteen 15-year-old players in the nation, she says, I’m absolutely thrilled to have been given this opportunity, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Hard work really does pay off, and I can’t wait to represent the 05 ODP girls in Amsterdam.”

Collins’ first outing with the 2005 National Team will be competing in Amsterdam, Netherlands April 3rd-9th.  Tennessee United cannot wait for the world to meet Katie Shea.
